In case you haven't noticed things look a bit different around here.... well a lot different, really. What do you think? I know it's a far cry from the simplicity of my old look, but I luuuuuuuuuv it... its so.... me.

I've been working on this little project with Into The Darkroom since last December and am so excited/relieved/grateful that it's done. When I decided to rebrand my company all those 10 months ago I had no idea it would be so damn difficult. The designers and I went round and round for months with different logo ideas to no avail. Apparently I was pickier and more difficult than I thought. I finally ended up hiring Scott from We Are Friend or Foe (www.wearefof.com) to give it a whirl... and he nailed it with the simple red/orange tag you see under the header. It's perfect. I want to marry it! It's so simple, but it fits in perfectly with the retro, old lady, modern feel I was looking for. Scott totally got me.

Then came the site design itself... ugh. More designing, more waiting, more pickiness... until I realized I know exactly what I want. And I know how to use photoshop. And I can just design it my damn self.  So I did. And Into the Darkroom programmed it.

It's full of my favorite things: bold yet earthy colors, tacky frames, a wall collage, and random garage sale type finds. I wanted it to have a funky, retro feel and look like something out of a Wes Anderson movie.

I'm pretty proud of my handiwork, but also super nervous... is it too random? Too specific? Does it look amateur? Will people like it? I'm a bit embarrassed to say that I still feel the need for approval when I'm being the most creative, but oh well, I'm being honest. It's hard to make something that reflects you to a T and then put it out there for people to possibly dislike.

Anyway... I hope people do like it. And I hope my new look will attract clients that love photography that is a bit different, colorful, and fun with a bit of retro style thrown in.

Thanks for reading :-)

PS I think this photo is hilarious... I found it on iStock Photo while I was searching for old tv photos :-)

Well, I love it. It is very you and I don't think it looks amateurish at all. I haven't seen it on any other photographer's blog which of course means that it's awesome! I feel so generic now! I'm so excited it's finally finished though!!!! Yay you!
